Carson City Emblem Club No. 507 hosts holiday gift and craft fair this Saturday

Emblem Club No. 507 will host a gift and craft fair this Saturday Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 North Nevada Street. The fair will feature hand made items, candles, jewelry, Longaberger baskets and pottery. These items will make for beautiful holiday gifts.

This annual event provides brand-new winter coats and Bombas winter socks to local children and teenagers to keep them warm all winter long.

Obituary: In Loving Memory of Paula Denise (Desormier) Rubke

Paula Denise Rubke, 47, of Carson City, passed away unexpectedly on October 26th, 2021.

Paula was born on November 21, 1973 to loving parents Paul and Sandy Desormier in Vallejo, CA. Paula enjoyed swimming, photography, and concerts in her youth, and her passion for photography continued throughout her life. After graduating from Vallejo High School in 1991, Paula went on to complete a degree in History at Sonoma State University.
