Carson City Historical Society is proud to host a lecture/presentation on preserving and restoring wood windows, on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Historic wood windows are valuable character-defining features of a building, worth retaining for architectural and environmental reasons.

WNC Latino Leadership Academy moves forward with leader familiar with program 

Before Lupe Ramirez began working at Western Nevada College there wasn’t a Latino Leadership Academy. But thanks to her passion and dedication, the LLA became a source of pride for the college by the time she decided to retire earlier this semester.

Carson Ranger District hosts virtual meeting Friday to discuss Jacks Valley Trail Project

The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District, with the Carson Valley Trails Association, will host a virtual public meeting to discuss the proposal to construct approximately 8.1 miles of new non-motorized trail in the Jacks Valley area south of Carson City, Nevada, on Friday, Nov. 5 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. This trail would connect the Jacks Valley North Trailhead to James Lee County Park.
