GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — The man who shot a Douglas County sergeant during a traffic stop last year was sentenced to prison Monday afternoon.

Some rooms at Frontier Motel on North Carson shut down Monday, considered unsafe for human occupancy

The Carson City Nuisance Task Force, made up of Carson City Department heads and health officials conducted an inspection Monday of the Frontier Motel on North Carson Street and immediately began the process of condemning multiple rooms at the motel, having determined they are unsafe for human occupancy.

On Friday, April 9, 2021 at approximately 7:16 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians on US-50 at Whitaker Lane in Fallon.

The Carson City School District announced plans for Pioneer High School’s senior graduation ceremonies and Carson Middle and Eagle Valley Middle Schools’ eighth grade promotions Friday, April 9. Carson High School has not yet determined whether graduation ceremonies will be a traditional ceremony or a drive-through event.

As a former cross country coach I enjoy watching people run, and I do it with a critical eye. "Oh-oh! This gentleman is supinating and will not last another mile at that pace." Sometimes I will pick up my own walking pace to try to find out if I am in fact right, and when I am, well, I drop off to the side and buy myself a cup of coffee.

This is the final week of Carson City Kiwanis’ Meals on Wheels fundraiser. In years past, the event included attendees who enjoyed competitive games of BINGO and a pasta feed. The total amount of donations received benefit the Carson City Senior Citizens Center's Meals on Wheels Program.

A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and suspicion of misdemeanor assault constituting domestic violence, a sheriff's booking report states.
