Carson City, Quad County COVID-19 Wednesday briefing: 15 new cases, 17 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, April 14, 2021 that there are 15 new cases and 17 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 12,167, with 11,542 recoveries and 222 deaths; 403 cases remain active.
Carson City shuts down Frontier Motel on North Carson, occupants to be vacated by Thursday

On April 12, 2021, a planned health and safety inspection was conducted at the Royal Inn, also known as the Frontier Motel, located at 1718 N. Carson Street, by Carson City Health and Human Services, Carson City Emergency Management, Carson City Fire Department, Carson City Code Enforcement, and the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Health officials learn Nevadan among six with serious reaction to Janssen COVID vaccine

CARSON CITY — During Wednesday's public federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices meeting, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services learned that a Nevadan was one of the six reported serious reactions to the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.

Carson City’s newest gym and physical therapy fitness center, The Health Lab, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday at their new location on Cochise Street.
In attendance was Mayor Lori Bagwell, members from the Board of Supervisors, and many Carson City leaders and business owners to help celebrate the opening.
Nevada DMV warns of appointment seller scams

CARSON CITY — The Nevada DMV is warning the public to avoid scams involving DMV appointments for sale. Director Julie Butler says scammers have been booking DMV appointments and trying to sell them to others. Fraudulent offers have been spotted recently on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

The Board of County Commissioners held a special meeting Wednesday to address the restore Lyon County Plan effective May 1, 2021. Lyon County had submitted a draft plan to the Nevada COVID Task Force outlining the plan to open Lyon County up within the guidelines of the States Emergency Directives.
