Carson City region braces for hard fall freeze; forecasters say bring in the pets, tomato plants
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 10/22/2020 - 10:41amFrom sunny days and warm temperatures to anticipated overnight freezing ahead, fall weather will arrive over the next few days around the Carson City region, prompting a freeze watch by the National Weather Service and a warning for gardeners to bring in the tomato plants and other fall vegetables that haven't been harvested.
Signups underway for Carson City Chamber's Halloween-themed golf tourney

The Carson City Chamber has partnered with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada to temporarily reduce some of the fatigue by organizing a bit of Halloween golf and fun for those who just want to enjoy the outdoors while practicing all the current COVID safety protocols.
Since winter is right around the corner, there may not be many chances left to play golf.

Carson City, Quad area COVID-19 Wednesday briefing: 21 new cases and 24 recoveries

This brings the total number of cases to 1,667, with 1,468 recoveries and 21 deaths; 178 cases remain active.

Steve Sisolak, the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office and the Governor’s Office of Economic of Development announced Wednesday an additional infusion of $20 million in to the Pandemic Emergency Technical Support (PETS) grant program, which opened for applicants on Monday.
