Accident with injury reported near Woodside Drive Saturday afternoon

There is only one vehicle involved at this time and the driver is out of the vehicle.
The driver was bleeding from his nose and mouth, and his car was smoking from the engine compartment.
East and westbound lanes shut down on Fairview and Saliman Saturday due to vehicle collision, careflight enroute

UPDATE 1:02 p.m.: Careflight has taken off and is now enroute to Renown with one patient.
UPDATE 12:48 p.m.: careflight has landed at the east side of the prison for transport.
Tows are enroute to Fairview and Saliman, both vehicles are inoperable.

Just before 12:40 p.m. a two vehicle crash was reported on Fairview and I-580.
According to deputies on scene one person is lying on the ground.
All westbound and eastbound traffic has been stopped on Fairview and traffic is being diverted.
Careflight is enroute to the scene.

February 18, 2021 (All day) Soroptimist International of Carson City joins with our Partnership Sponsor, Allison MacKenzie, to invite businesses, nonprofits and local agencies to sponsor a woman from their company or from the community as a “Women Helping Women” Honoree in recognition of her dedication to improving the lives of women or girls. Honoree sponsorship submissions are due by December 31, 2020. Honorees will be recognized at our “Celebrating Women Helping Women” event, to be held virtually on February 18, 2021 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
Carson City School Board to hear class return report, bond resolution and more Tuesday

The next Carson City School Board meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Among the items for discussion are a report on return to school measures, a possible bond resolution, activities and summer projects.
Douglas County Hosts Flood Awareness Event both as In Person and Virtual Option

Quad-County COVID-19 Update for Friday, Oct. 23: 16 new cases brings total to 1,703; 190 active cases

We are reporting 16 new cases and 2 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,703, with 1,492 recoveries and 21 deaths; 190 cases remain active.
Traffic accident reported Friday at Carson and Eagle Station

Injuries are unknown at this time.
First responders are enroute.
Motorists should seek alternate routes if possible.

Carson City MAC, Sierra Room suggested to be renamed in honor of the late Mayor Bob Crowell

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission discussed renaming the MAC and the Community Center’s Sierra Room in honor of the late Mayor Bob Crowell during their meeting Monday.
