Quad County, Carson City COVID-19 Thursday update: 20 new cases and 22 recoveries
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 10/22/2020 - 6:37pmCarson City Health and Human Services is reporting Thursday that there are 20 new cases and 22 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,687, with 1,490 recoveries and 21 deaths; 176 cases remain active.
Emergency crews respond to fire at Carson City landfill

The Carson City Fire Department was called early Thursday evening for a fire with smoke and flames visible at the landfill off of Highway 50 East.
Carson City investigators ask for public's help finding missing and endangered veteran

The missing person is identified as Robert Hester, 61, and was last seen near his Carson City residence on or about October 1, 2020.

Local eatery Juan's Mexican Grill to open second location in downtown Carson City

Since then, the family has been serving up dishes throughout Carson City, first at Mo and Sluggo's (now Westside Pour House), then at the Horseshoe Club (now closed), and finally at the Comstock Casino, where they remain as Juan's Mexican Grill.
