Carson City Health and Human Service reports Sunday, Oct. 18, 20202 that there are 6 new cases and 11 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,603, with 1,400 recoveries and 19 deaths, 184 cases remain active.

I'm just itching to start pruning our evergreens, but my arborist self knows it’s a bit soon. I will wait until we have a hard freeze, to ensure my pruning cuts won’t attract any bark beetles. When a tree is pruned, we actually are wounding it.
