Carson Valley Trails Association Annual Meeting & Member Celebration held March 4

The Carson Valley Trails Association (CVTA) will host the organization’s annual meeting and member celebration on Wednesday, March 4, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.

The evening will feature trails information and updates, complimentary refreshments, raffle prizes, and a no-host bar. The event is free and open to the public.

Muscle Powered bike ride happens Sunday

Join Muscle Powered for a free, guided bike ride this Sunday. Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building. For Sunday's ride, meet at 9 a.m. at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail.

Muscle Powered Thursday Hike at Linear Ditch

Come join Muscle Powered for a free, guided group walk, hike, or ride around Carson City! Muscle Powered is a local non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building.

The Thursday, Feb. 20 hike is at Linear ditch, central near Fremont Elementary School. Meet on Cardinal Way off of Saliman Road.

Thursday hikes start at 3 p.m. and are 2-4 miles with duration of about 90 minutes, sometimes with elevation gains of 500’ or more. Water and closed-toed shoes are required.

Hat and poles recommended If weather conditions are bad hikes will be cancelled.

Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg to host Town Hall Monday in Carson City

Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg will be hosting a Town Hall Monday in Carson City to discuss his campaign and answer questions from the public.

This is one of three stops Buttigieg is making within the silver state, including Sparks and Elko.

Brewery Arts Center debuts female version of 'The Odd Couple' beginning Friday
