February 8, 2020 - 12:30pm Carson's very own junior roller derby team has been invited to compete in Los Angeles, CA and it is a pretty big deal.
The Carson Junior Victory Rollers are headed to the Shamblock Shake tournament hosted by Los Anarchists roller derby team to compete on behalf of our great city. It was an honor for us to be invited and we hope we can make you all proud and come back with a win.

The first Board of Supervisors meeting of February will take place on Feb. 6 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center located at 851 E. William Street.
On the docket for discussion is board appointments for wildlife management, a grant application for wildfire fuel reduction, vehicle donations, and more.
Carson City man arrested for multiple violations of temporary protective order

A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning for multiple violations of a temporary protective order.
On Friday evening, deputies were dispatched to a residence to meet with a victim stating the man had attempted to make entry into her residence.

February 8, 2020 - 6:00pm ‘Colonizing Space,’ ‘Extreme Places’ Presentations at JCDO Accompany Mike Thomas to one-of-a-kind spots and outer space for the Northern Nevada lecturer’s opening presentations of 2020 at Jack C. Davis Observatory.
Thomas will talk about “Extreme Places” on Friday, Feb. 7 and “Colonizing Space” on Saturday, Feb. 8. other lectures are free to the public and begin at 6:30 p.m.; doors to the observatory open at 6 p.m.

Happy Saturday Carson City, and say hello to February! That means Spring must be right around the corner! I hope so at least, because Friday’s beautiful weather was enough to make me ready to say goodbye to father winter.
