Citizens' Climate Lobby, Carson City Chapter Monthly Meeting is Online

The Carson City Chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby is a community organization affiliated with Citizens’ Climate Lobby and Citizens’ Climate Education (https://citizensclimatelobby.org/). Our purpose is to develop and implement activities that provide accurate information about climate change and what can be done to mitigate the effects of climate change. Carson City homeless advocate to speak at Democratic tele-luncheon

Dee Dee Foremaster, Executive Director of the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL) and Do Drop In day refuge for the homeless and mentally ill will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Her presentation will be an update on all the great things that have been happening at RCIL since her last luncheon appearance.

New community-based addiction support services in Lyon County brings Hope for the Holidays as overdose deaths reach record highs during pandemic

YERINGTON, Nev. — Individualized and group support services for people and families impacted by addiction and mental health are now available for free in Yerington, Fernley, and Dayton through Foundation for Recovery, a community nonprofit led by volunteers and staff in recovery from substance use and mental health themselves.

Carson City museum offers family programs, historical lectures and more in January

The Nevada State Museum, Carson City offers a slate of in-person and online programs in January, ranging from online family projects to historical lectures. The offerings fall under four different programs: Family Fun Saturday and the Francis Humphrey Lecture Series, both occurring online, as well as Coin Press No. 1 demonstrations and Curator’s Corner programming, both available in-person at the museum. After two years in office and with two years left in his current term, General Ford will present a halftime recap of his accomplishments so far at the state and national levels, and the continuing challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

This evening was "The Great Conjunction" of Jupiter and Saturn. They started out low in the sky but were very visible. Photos were taken off of Pine Lane in north Carson City with a Nikon Coolpix P-1000, which has a substantial zoom. As an added bonus I just had to zoom into the moon and capture it as well.

Carson City Library continues to serve community while making improvements and upgrades
