Registration takes place at the Moose Lodge, located at 1475 Old Hot Springs Way in Carson City, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Entry is $20 per hand and includes lunch at the run's last stop. Players must be 21 and older to participate.

Duck Hill Fire north of Carson City in Goni Canyon, Eastlake area 50 percent contained

UPDATE 2:22PM: The Duck Hill Fire north of Carson City above Eastlake is around 50 percent contained, according to KRNV News 4. Carson City fire crews have returned to their stations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Forest Service: Slide Fire containment efforts underway, FAA investigates aircraft crash

UPDATE 12:47PM: According to KTVN Channel 2, authorities say one person is confirmed dead after a small recreational aircraft crash that sparked the 80-acre Slide Fire. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested for multiple felonies Tuesday after he allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to shoot people inside a Highway 50 East convenience store, a sheriff's deputy said.

Carson City Fire Department assists with fighting 'Berry Fire' wildfire near Washoe Lake, forward progress stopped

UPDATE 5:42PM: Old Highway 395 is now open in both directions after a wildfire closed the highway from Eastlake to Bellevue, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE: 5:20PM: Forward progress stopped on Washoe Valley "Berry Fire."

The 8-acre fire is now 30 percent contained according to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

Evacuations are still in place for remaining addresses.

Crews will remain on site overnight "mopping up." Some Carson City Fire Department crews are being released from the scene. The cause is under investigation.

5:00PM: Good progress on the Berry Fire is reported by Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Firefighters are working to secure utilities. The evacuation area has been reduced to 8 addresses. The Galena Evacuation Center is now closed.

Old US 395 between Bellevue and Eastlake Drive closed for approximately 1 hour.

Washoe Valley outages have yet to be fixed. Original estimated time of restoration was 5:30PM, however the fire could prolong the restoration.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Live music at McFadden Plaza tonight features local cover band, Deception. The Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival kicks off tonight with a band in the Davis Creek Campground. The U.S. Air Force’s Jazz Ensemble performs at the Bob Boldrick Theater as part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Free tickets have been available at the Chamber of Commerce for a few weeks, and if any are left, their numbers will be limited.

A brush fire sparked early Thursday evening in Washoe Valley north of Carson City was knocked down by firefighters, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.
