Pedestrian suffers minor injuries in hit and run at Carson City Goodwill, deputies search for silver SUV

Carson City emergency crews and the Carson City Sheriff's Office were dispatched tonight to a crash involving a pedestrian who was struck by a silver SUV in the parking lot of Goodwill on Highway 50 East and then sped away.

Carson City Fire Department called to Condor Circle structure fire

UPDATE 12:55PM: Two adults and three children from one apartment and one adult from a second apartment at Condor Circle have been displaced due to the fire, according to Fire Chief Bob Schreihans. Red Cross has been called to the scene.

Carson City firefighters, occupants knock down fire inside residence

Carson City firefighters and the occupants of a town home knocked down a small kitchen fire Monday afternoon in the 1100 block of South Nevada Street.

Firefighters in Douglas County respond to apartment fire in Gardnerville

East Fork Fire Protection District firefighters in Douglas County were called just before 1 p.m. to a structure fire at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of El Dorado Drive off of Waterloo in Gardnerville.
The apartment was evacuated and Red Cross was called to assist seven people, 4 adults, two children and an infant who are now displaced because of the fire.
The cause is under investigation. Carson City Fire Department was called as a mutual aid to backup other stations called to fight the fire.

Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire on Metric Way

The Carson City Fire Department was called Thursday afternoon to a structure fire at 5241 Metric Way off of Conestoga. The fire was confirmed to be a roof fire at a cabinet company. The call came into dispatch at around 2:35 p.m.

Victim found dead in Silver Springs structure fire

One person died in a Silver Springs structure fire that happened Monday morning. It is the second fatality involving fires Monday morning, with an elderly man who died in an early morning Carson City apartment fire.

Carson City Fire Department knock down structure fire on Sheffield Manor

Carson City Fire Department responded to the 2000 block of Sheffield Manor this afternoon for a structure fire. Crews and engines were called at around 3:40 p.m. after a report of smoke coming from the structure. At 3:53 p.m. the fire was knocked down, according to dispatch. No injuries were reported.

Fire strikes Gardnerville home Sunday night

The East Fork Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire on the 700 block of Lassen Way in the Gardnerville Ranchos on Sunday evening.
The fire broke out at approximately 8:30 p.m. and appeared to have started in the garage but extended into parts of the living area and the front of the residence.

Three-vehicle crash on I-580 near Arrowhead; firefighters called to Gardnerville structure fire

Carson City Fire Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to a three-vehicle crash in the northbound lane of I-580 near Arrowhead. One person was said to have injuries due to air bag deployment.

Traffic is being diverted and it is slow going on the freeway. You may want to find an alternative route. Please be safe out there as many people are leaving early from work.

Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire at Mary and Fifth streets

UPDATE: St. Teresa students are back in school and the evacuation has been lifted.

Carson City firefighters responded this afternoon to a house fire at 735 W. 5th Street, adjacent to St. Theresa school.

Heavy smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived on the scene at about 1 p.m. The blaze was under control by 1:40 p.m.

No one was home at the time, but that there might be a pet inside. The cause is under investigation.

St. Theresa school students have been evacuated. The fire call came into dispatch just after 1 p.m.

Carson City Fire Department called to large chemical fire on Lockheed Way

UPDATE 415PM: Evacuations have been lifted in the industrial park area near the chemical fire earlier today off of Lockheed Way. Those who left their vehicles in the area, can now safely go back to pick them up. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Multiple fires calls south of Carson City in Douglas County

UPDATE 10PM: As of 9:35 pm, crews are responding to the fires. Two fires have been reported above Jacks Valley, one above Autumn Hills, one above Job’s Peak Ranch and one near Fay Luther Canyon. The fires are going to be monitored through the night and will be addressed during the daylight hours.
No structures are in danger at this time, said Sgt. Pat Brooks of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Carson City firefighters called to kiln fire off Lockheed Way

Carson City firefighters were called at around 12:40 p.m. Monday to a structure fire in the 2700 block of Lockheed Way. First responders report the roof of a building was emitting a large amount of smoke and a kiln was on fire.

Lockheed Way is in an industrial park area. Firefighters on scene report the building was evacuated and that the kiln was shut down to stop any flames.

Carson City fire and rescue called to structure fire on West King Street

8:33PM: The fire, in a house near Bordewich-Bray Elementary, has been knocked down, according to first responders.

Carson City fire and rescue were called tonight a structure fire in the 700 block of King Street on the west side of Carson City.
The fire was called in at around 8:20 p.m. Multiple fire units were called to 717 King Street. Additional fire units have been requested.
It is unknown at this time what is burning or how widespread the fire is. Check back for updates.

Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire on Pheasant Drive

UPDATE: Firefighters have got a handle on a structure fire in an apartment in the 3900 block of Pheasant Drive. The fire is believed to have started near the area of a water heater. Carson City firefighters were able to knock down the flames coming from the home.
Nearby residences were evacuated. The cause of the fire has not been determined. An ambulance was called to assist at least one person who was evacuated.

Carson City firefighters respond to structure fire at Long Street residence

Carson City Fire Department were called this afternoon to a structure fire at 1600 Long Street. Fire Department personnel arrived and called it a working incident with multiple units responding. It appears that no one was home at the time of the fire, or at least escaped when the fire started, according to firefighters on scene.
Neighbors said the home is occupied by one person.

Black smoke was seen coming from inside, alerting neighbors to call 911. Dispatch was alerted to the fire at 1:22 p.m. Firefighters made entry into the home and doused whatever flames were inside.

Agencies respond Sunday afternoon to fire at Moundhouse industrial facility

Multiple fire agencies were called to a structure fire in Moundhouse this afternoon at an industrial facility at 16 Bruce Way. No injuries were reported. Firefighters contained the fire and began mop up early this evening, said Lyon County Manager Jeff Page.

Structure fire causes significant damage to home south of Carson City in Douglas County

A north Douglas County home was destroyed after a structure fire Saturday night. East Fork Fire and Paramedic District along with the help of Carson City Fire Department responded to the fire in the 3600 block of Shawnee Drive off of Jacks Valley Road.

As units arrived, the structure was approximately 80 percent involved in fire. Sixteen East Fork Fire units responded to this fire in addition to units from the Carson City Fire Department, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.

Carson City firefighters called to structure fire on north Division

UPDATE 9:19PM: One man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene of a house fire Monday night in the 1500 block of North Division. Two dogs were inside the home when the fire started. One dog escaped and another suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by firefighters, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi.

The dog was not in good shape when firefighters found him but emergency crews were able to help the dog breathe, said Giomi. The dog is now recovering under the supervision of animal services and should survive.

Structure fire in Dayton

Firefighters in Lyon County are fighting a small structure fire at River Village Circle in Dayton. Sources say that the roof of a private residence caught fire.

Carson City sheriff’s arrest log for Thursday

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:36 a.m. in the 200 block of Hackamore Way on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a possible structure fire. Officers were advised there had been suspicious activity in the home and that subjects with warrants for their arrests had been hiding inside.

Firefighters called to Bunch Way structure fire

UPDATE: A fire inside a home in the 3000 block of Bunch Way has been extinguished. Witnesses said the fire put out more smoke than flame and firefighters were able to knock it down quickly before there was any real damage. The fire is under investigation.

Carson City firefighters knock down Otha Street fire

Update: Fire is out. The roads in the immediate area are now open. The cause of the fire, which burned brush and part of a wood outbuilding workshop and was near a metal building structure, was less than 30-feet by 30-feet in size and ran along two properties, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. The cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters battle structure fire in Mound House

UPDATE: The fire earlier this morning that destroyed a home in Mound House appears to be out. A fire marshal has been called to investigate. Firefighters are mopping up. More details will be posted as we learn them.

Carson City firefighters respond to structure fire off Neptune Court

Carson City firefighters responded early Monday evening to a working structure fire near the 2700 block of Highway 50 East off of Neptune Court and Carmine Street.

The occupant of the residence and two dogs escaped injury but the fire burned much of the manufactured home and there was partial roof collapse, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. A third dog was reported missing.

Carson City firefighters called to structure fire on North Carson Street

Carson City firefighters responded to a working structure fire in the 1900 block of North Carson Street early Sunday evening.
Smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived at the mobile home park. All occupants were able to get out of the mobile home though one was reported to be injured. An ambulance was called to the scene.

Carson City firefighters respond to blaze on Continental Drive

UPDATE 12:25PM: A single-family home in the 1500 block of Continental Drive had moderate damage after a structure fire Tuesday morning, according to Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A man was treated for minor burns at the scene after he attempted to extinguish the fire, which was confined to a child's bedroom, said Chief Giomi. He declined to be taken to the hospital.

Structure fire at Carson City Inn leads to evacuations

Carson City firefighters responded early Saturday evening to a fire at the Carson City Inn, in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. At least one person was injured.

Evacuation of the complex was in place soon after firefighters arrived when it was reported at 5:41 p.m. Flames and smoke were coming from the building as firefighters arrived, with a smoke plume coming from stairwells near the point of origin, according firefighters on scene.

Fire burns large home in Douglas County residential area

East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts responded at 6 a.m. Tuesday to a structure fire in the 400 block of Natures Edge in the Jobs Peak residential area of Gardnerville.

East Fork committed 36 firefighter personnel and 4 chief officers, staffing 6 engines, 3 rescues, 1 heavy rescue and 4 brush trucks to this fire. The fire was a difficult fire to control due the type of heavy timber construction and metal roofing on parts of the structure.
