Carson City Fire Department knocks down mobile home fire on Kentuck Lane

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded late Thursday morning to a structure fire in the 100 block Kentuck Lane near Crown Point Drive and Gold Hill Drive.

Prescribed burning continues at Carson City's Empire Ranch Golf Course

The column of smoke seen Thursday from Highway 50 East is at Empire Ranch Golf Course, which is conducting prescribed burns to accomplish hazardous fuels reduction and wildlife habitat restoration, according to the Carson City Fire Department.

House fire reported in the area of Sandstone Drive near College Parkway

A structure fire was reported at 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Sandstone near Cinnabar and Diamond.

First responders from Carson City as well as Truckee Meadows fire are enroute to the scene.

According to dispatch a neighbor called stating that flames and smoke could be seen from the residence.

Contact was made with the homeowner who stated no one should be inside the residence.

Carson City emergency crews called to brush fire that spread into Winnie Lane apartments

UPDATE 8:10PM: Five apartment units were damaged and six people have been displaced due to the fire at 410 West Winnie Lane, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Micah Horton. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE 2:08 p.m.: Sheriff's Office units were told they could clear the scene.

A possible structure fire was reported Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Poole Way near Carmine and Sherman.

According to dispatch, a woman lit a chair on fire inside of a residence, which then lit the floor on fire. Dispatch advised that an oxygen tank was present.

Small fire that started in clothes drier extinguished, according to Carson City battalion chief

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday afternoon to a laundry room fire in the 1100 block of Genoa Lane in north Carson City.

The fire was called in at around 12:30 p.m. as a structure fire inside a residence. A battalion chief on scene reports the small fire was from a clothing drier that was extinguished by the time they arrived.

Carson City Fire Department knock down fast moving brush fire off Mark Way

UPDATE 5:50PM: Carson City Fire Department Chief Sean Slamon reports the brush fire, now under control, was approximately 1 acre in size and two homes were immediately threatened when firefighters arrived.

"The fire was challenging from down drafts and erratic high winds. Crews were able to protect the structures and stop the forward progress very quickly," said Slamon.

Firefighters will remain on scene for another 1 to 2 hours. The cause is under investigation.

UPDATE: Forward progress on the Mark fire was stopped at 5:36 p.m., according to a Carson City Fire Department battalion chief on scene. Mop up efforts are underway. It is unknown at this time if any structures have been damaged. We will update as information becomes available.

Carson City Fire Department is responding early Tuesday evening to a brush fire in the 1000 block of Mark Way. Smoke is visible and Carson City dispatch is receiving multiple 911 calls.

UPDATE: According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, the fire wasn't a fire but steam from a steam line that blew a valve. NDOC appreciates the quick response of the firefighters, first responders, and deputies, said a NDOC spokesman.

Multiple units of firefighters, first responders and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Warm Springs Prison on report of a structure fire inside the prison Friday afternoon.

According to dispatch the fire was reported to be near class rooms, and inmates were being secured while responders were enroute.

Carson City Fire Department responded early Sunday morning to a report of a structure fire in the 3100 block of Stafford Way.

Structure fire reported near Michael and Mountain Streets

Just before 2 p.m. a structure fire was called in near Michael and Mountain Street to assist on an outside agency report.

The roof is reported to have caught on fire at a structure and the reporting party believed it to be insulation that caught.

Upon arrival heavy smoke could be seen coming from the roof.

The house appears to be in the process of either removing or installing a new roof. Fire crews gained access from above with chainsaws.

Carson City emergency crews called to fully involved mobile home fire on Dori Way

UPDATE 4PM: From Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon: The occupant who was home at the time of the fire was safely out of the home prior to firefighters arriving. No injuries were reported. The structure is a total loss. Due to the quick actions of firefighters the adjacent homes were not damaged. Carson City is being covered by mutual aid units.

Carson City Fire Department respond to apartment fire on Menlo Drive

UPDATE 5:24PM: Here's an update from Tuesday afternoon's fire. Crews gained access to the apartment’s rooftop and began ventilation efforts on the structure. Quick and effective operations managed to contain the fire within one unit and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent units. A ferret was located within the residence and appeared to be in good condition, no resuscitation was needed. No reported injuries.
