With a recent sanitation fogger obtained by the Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City Cinema Club will show its first film of the year, the1953 classic “Mogambo” this Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 West King Street.

The Brewery Arts Center received special permission to screen “Once upon a Main Street”, the new Lifetime movie shot at the Brewery Arts Center along with several locations in Carson City and Carson Valley.

UPDATE: The children have been located and are safe. The father has been detained after the truck was located in Sparks. The Amber Alert has been canceled, according to the Storey County Sheriff's Office.

Carson City's very own local Santa Claus is currently featured in People Magazine's story about the new Lifetime Holiday Movie, "Once Upon a Main Street" which was filmed in part in Carson City.

The Greenhouse Project is proud to announce the first MaskurAid Ball, taking place Jan. 4, 2021 in an event where masks are mandatory and costumes are optional.

Hosted by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club, the Brewery Arts Center is holding a drive-in movie showing of the 1950s classic “Shane” on Saturday. Historic Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada, is opening its doors once again for what it was meant to be — a performing arts venue. “Murder at the Gin Joint” premiers this August and is a murder mystery presented by the Piper’s Players.

Here is a picture of the comet. I took this July 25, 2020 from over by Washoe Lake. I had to keep working at it. First I had to make sure I had the right portion of the sky. The bottom two Big Dipper stars on the generally right side of photo are what points down somewhat towards the comet. 10-second exposure. I'm just an amateur photographer. It's very far away of course now. I could hardly find it - at first finding something else, but then I finally found the right blip. Oh Boy!

This week, Moxy Ruckus was the band of choice for the Flatbed Music Concert series put on by the Brewery Arts Center, and they slowly cruised through the Carson City neighborhood surrounding Eagle Valley Middle School on Saturday night.

This event has taken place the last 11 years in order to grow a thriving agricultural education program on the campus of Carson High School.

Step aside Felix and Oscar, Florence and Olive are in town! The female version of The Odd Couple opens February 14 at the Brewery Arts Center and runs 14-16 and 21-23 with doors opening at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday nights at doors at 1:30 pm on Sundays. Show at 7:30 pm and 2:00 pm.

Students from Wild Horse Children's Theater in Carson City won a Freddie G Excellence in Music national theater award and earned recognition at the 2020 Junior Theater Festival West, which happened Feb. 7-9, 2020 at Wells Fargo Pavilion.

Heading into Tuesday, the capital city will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint with events throughout the day. Other activities include a morning and evening walk hosted by Muscle Powered, a dinner fundraiser for the Roman family at Pizza Factory, a community dinner and meeting invite to the Order of Eastern Star, a showing at the BAC of the 1941 film classic "The Lady Eve" and a concert featuring the Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with violin soloist Elizabeth Pitcairn at Shepherd-Sierra Lutheran Church.
