The contest was open to all Carson City residents, households and businesses. Contestants created chalk art masterpieces on their own driveways or sidewalks based on the Nevada Day theme of “My Favorite Moment in Nevada.”

Lions Club kicks off its annual “White Cane Days” Saturday and Sunday in Carson City to increase awareness of the white cane traffic safety laws, and collect used eyeglasses for distribution to those in need. Local business Wizard of Pawz grooming salon hosts a socially-distanced grand opening on Saturday afternoon, followed by a pool tournament at Bulldog Billiards at 6 p.m. Combined with live music and karaoke, the state capitol will be packed with excitement! Enjoy in the games, festivities, activities at home and outdoors. Events are at a minimum, for obvious reasons, but the two big ones are traditions for us in the capital city. The Carson City Turkey Trot at the Governor's Mansion and the free Carson Nugget Thanksgiving community dinner. Enjoy your day and any slight break in the weather. More winter storms are on the way.
Downtown Carson City Then and Now: Telegraph Square sign to be unveiled Saturday, Nov. 30

After-hours burglary being investigated after man found dead from fall at Carson City shopping center
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 11/17/2019 - 11:26amUPDATE: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says the incident, in which a man was found dead after apparently falling through the roof at a Carson City shopping center business, is being investigated as a possible after-hours burglary and that the deceased man had been dead for some time.
According to Sheriff Furlong, workers at a hair salon came into the business to open up for the day. When they arrived they found a deceased male on the ground, who appeared to have fallen through the ceiling.
