The activation, designed to inspire the community to download and adopt the COVID Trace contact tracing app, resulted in five times the usual daily downloads indicating the community is motivated to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

At his most recent press conference, the governor declared many of us as COVID fatigued. V&T Railway will hold a casting call for its 2020 Santa’s Drive-Thru Village on Monday, Oct. 26 and Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Eastgate Depot in Carson City. The railway is looking for energetic performers to portray elves, chefs, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer in addition to individuals to help direct traffic throughout the event.

Partnership Carson City, founded to develop a healthy community, is now offering its popular Wellness Yoga classes in-person, while continuing to offer the online virtual option. Under the newest safety guidelines, and due to space limitations, the in-person class now accommodates 10 people and advance registration is required.

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of possession of a stolen bicycle among other alleged offenses, a sheriff's booking report states.

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce it will offer free COVID-19 testing for all school employees in two drive-thru events. Information about the dates, times and location have already been provided to employees from school administrators. After the drive-thru events, school employees who become symptomatic at work may be tested by one of the school nurses.
