On Sunday, August 4, at 10 a.m., Glen Whorton, President of the Nevada State Prison Preservation Society, returns to the park to speak on this year’s topic “The Great State Embezzlement.” This is a free event for all to attend.
Washoe County Sheriff's Office cites fourth illegal dumper in two weeks thanks to citizen's report

This is the fourth illegal dumper caught in the last two weeks thanks to the help of concerned citizens.
Weather Service: Showers and thunderstorms possible, heat to build over weekend

Thunderstorms producing heavy rain were reported across the Carson Range west of Foothill Road. Flash flooding is expected. Rock slides, debris flows are possible. The warning is until 8:30 p.m.

NDOT to enhance no parking on U.S. 50 near Cave Rock at Tahoe

Beginning Wednesday through July 29, NDOT will install nearly 10 new “no parking” signs making un-permitted parking illegal on U.S. 50 roadside shoulders and median between Cave Rock and just south of Cave Rock State Park.

Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.
