This hike will feature the "Worm Moon," an abandoned 1950's truck and plenty of beautiful terrain.

The Brewery Arts Center hosts a female version of "The Odd Couple." Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. Dale Poune will perform at Bella Vita Bistro, plus comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Nevada Caucus on Saturday, an open house at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, a Latin-themed concert at the community center and more. Rumors of dog lice in Carson City Dog Parks unsubstantiated, says Parks and Rec

Cottonwood wrapping volunteer event with Carson City Parks happens Feb. 22

Dozens of sweets are in store for Saturday. The American Association of University Women holds its 20th annual Feast of Chocolate at the Carson Plaza and Event Center. Artsy Fartsy Gallery hosts its 9th annual Jewelry and Chocolate Show with several new decorative pieces. To cap-off Saturday, the legendary Cab Calloway Orchestra makes its way to the capital city.
Carson City Parks Department: Fuji Park playground closed for repairs, to reopen sometime in March
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Tue, 02/04/2020 - 1:28pmThe Fuji Park playground adjacent to the Fuji Park Dog Park has been closed due to repairs, according to David Navarro, Parks Operations Superintendent from the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, and is set to be reopened sometime in March, although the time frame is dependent on an order of new parts for the playground.

The hike will be a glow stick adventure featuring the "Snow Moon," Ghost Rock and plenty of beautiful terrain.
Carson City sued for $15 million after it refuses to allow hemp-production in Buzzys Ranch area

Tahoe Hemp is suing for $15 million in damages citing the city broke its agreement with the Jarrard Family Trust, which gives rights to the family to use the property for agricultural purposes.
Volunteers remove 7,000 pounds of trash Monday from Carson City open space

In total, more than 50 volunteers removed 7,080 pounds of trash from the natural area. Items of all kinds were taken out of the canyons including plastic bottles, tires, yard trimmings, toys, and even kitchen sinks.
Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range to close for construction beginning Jan. 27

For safety reasons, all shooting activities, including reservations and public use, are canceled during construction. The construction schedule is anticipated to last approximately 10 weeks, although it will be contingent on weather conditions.

City, state and federal offices are closed as are schools. Friends of the Carson City Library's Browser's Book Store at 711 East Washington St., is open from noon to 5 p.m. Activities around the capital city include a canyon area cleanup hosted by Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space, a luncheon highlighting the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, swing dance lessons and more. Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space to host Carson River Trails Project open house

The project is funded by a grant from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act (SNPLMA), which will construct a non-motorized multi-use pathway on the east side of Prison Hill, through Silver Saddle Ranch, and along the Carson River through Buzzy’s Ranch connecting to Riverview Park.

Download your Letters to Santa form from Carson Now, and you can send it off to the big man at the magical North Pole mailbox, which will be available for letters during the Homestead Holidays celebration Dec. 13-15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Silver Saddle Ranch in Carson City.
