New Years Day Bingo

That's right CASI will be hosting bingo at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverley Drive on New Years day! Bring your friends and family for a fun and exciting afternoon of bingo. In addition to the prize money given to the winners of the games there will be raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing too. Doors will open at 11:30 AM and the first game will start at 12:30. Buy-in is $10 and extra packets are $5. All other games are $1. The snack bar will be open offering hot dogs, chips and candy. Sometimes the wonderful CASI volunteers will bring soup.
Fleet Reserve Association - Celebrate Christmas and Donate to Toys for Tots
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 12/13/2016 - 6:31pmThe Sierra-Tahoe Branch and Ladies Auxiliary Unit #137 of the Fleet Reserve Association held their Annual Christmas Party at Jethro’s Oven - Grill, Gardnerville. The food was plentiful and enjoyed by everyone, along with fabulous yummy desserts prepared by Brenda Horton, President of the Ladies Auxiliary. A big thank you to Larry Knack and Rick Athenour for arranging the event.
Wonderful raffle prizes were donated by local stores, including a $100 Walmart gift card. Thank you to Sue Higgins for securing the raffle prizes and displaying them so nicely.

Carson Valley Pops Orchestra Holiday Concert set for Dec. 10

This free concert will feature traditional tunes such as White Christmas, Oh Holy Night and Silent Night. The Voices of the Sierra Choir will perform several holiday selections and the always-popular holiday sing along is also planned.
Led by Co-Conductors Stephanie Reynolds and C.J. Birch, this performance is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays with your friends and family.

This free concert will feature selections from Star Wars, Star Trek, music from Apollo 13, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, among others. Led by Co-Conductors Stephanie Reynolds and C.J. Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 and you have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Today may feel a little like a Monday, but there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself. Check out the new Spirit of America show at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Show. Our local Classic Cinema Club meets tonight and will be showing 'A Walk in the Sun' with Dana Andrews. If you feel like playing with fire, Controlled Burn meets at A to Zen to practice the right way to handle the flames.
