Carson Montessori School deliver cash and pet treats to the Nevada Humane Society

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, the school children along with their principal, Jessica Barlow Daniels, dropped off canned dog and cat food, a check for $250 and $4.78 in cash.
"It was very kind and very sweet. The kids were thrilled," noted Kimberly Wade, Senior Manager of Communications and Events for the Nevada Humane Society.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4:30 p.m., the Carson City Chamber of Commerce will host a special ribbon cutting in honor of a new beginning for homeless pets.

The whimsical musical follows the adventures of a small-town doctor in Victorian England who uses his special gift of being able to talk with animals to learn more about the world. In this musical, Doctor Dolittle becomes the world’s greatest animal doctor by learning how to speak the thousands of different dialects of creatures.
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

Luckily, at Nevada Humane Society that is not the case — but still, there are plenty of dogs who need a home this October during Adopt a Shelter Dog month.

The fair is for positions available for Nevada Humane Society’s second location in Carson City. They are hiring for animal care staff, veterinary assistants, customer service, maintenance, animal behavior evaluators, licensed vet technicians. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Job seekers invited to employment fair Friday at the Carson City Community Center

Sponsored by Carson City Health and Human Services, Job Opportunities in Nevada (JOIN), and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce the Sept. 26 fair, located in the large gym of the community center at 851 East William Street, is open to the general public and all job seekers. Veterans will be able to enter the Job Fair at 1:30 p.m. for early admission.

But before that Crowell addresses the success of the NV 150 Fair held at Fuji Park in Carson City earlier this month. He offers thanks to the countless volunteers, 4-H groups, FFA, city employees, as well as the efforts of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce who helped sponsor the event as well as Casino Fandango, which allowed fair participants to park and shuttle to and from the fairgrounds.
Carson City Animal Services and Nevada Humane Society announce partnership

Carson City has reached a conceptual agreement with the Nevada Humane Society, Nevada’s first and most highly regarded animal welfare group, in a new partnership to lead Carson City’s Animal Services, to include adoptions, shelter, and regulation services, said Marano.
