Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! It'll be a bit warmer than yesterday with a high of 86 and a low of 51, and you can expect a bit of a breeze with 13 mph winds.

There's a lot going on today in our beautiful Capital City, with day two of Epic Rides, the Carson City Airport Open House and Wing Cook-off, the farmer's market, a youth expo, and more.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City area to help the next three days breeze by. There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

Heading into Thursday, June 27, 2019, there's plenty to do and see around the Carson City area as we march toward an action-packed weekend. There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Farmers Market in Dayton, a discussion on climate change at Western Nevada College, a history presentation on Chinese woodcutters at the Nevada State Museum, a presentation by the NNDA Executive Director at a GOP monthly meeting, Cruise Night at Wing Stop, an information meeting on the Ross Gold Park master plan hosted by Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space. This year, the Creative Kids Camp at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center is exploring nature through arts and crafts. Children can create a variety of items inspired by nature including garden stepping stones and rock accents.

After passing unanimously in the Assembly and Senate, Senate Bill 140 (SB 140), which sets aside 10 percent of uncommitted groundwater as a reserve, was signed into law yesterday by Gov. Steve Sisolak. The Nature Conservancy in Nevada is focused on protecting water for the environment and applauds the legislature and Governor for taking this innovative step toward conserving water for communities, for the environment, and for the future.

Hello Carson City and say hello to our newest pet of the week: Rowdy! He is a 3-year-old very sweet and shy terrier mix. While Rowdy may be timid at first, once you get to know him he is bursting with personality! He's been waiting for his new family to come and take him home since May.
