Man convicted of felony child abuse, claims girlfriend’s baby was burned by a malevolent spirit

Marcellous Davone Galaviz was convicted of child abuse with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm in Carson City on Thursday following a three day trial. The man claimed that he awoke from a nap to a spirit holding him down and burning him, and later he realized the spirit had also burned his girlfriend’s baby who was under his care.

Apologies to all but Carson City BMX is postponing their Open House and start of racing to Easter weekend, April 20 and 21.
Track prep has been slow going but heck or high water pushing to make this happen. So now, Carson City BMX Open House is scheduled for Saturday, 20 April 2019, 1-4 pm and start our 2019 season on Sunday, 21 April 2019, signups 9-10 am (must be a USABMX member).

Southern Nevada senator stands behind bee bill, says it is meant to stop Africanized bees

Senator Keith Pickard of southern Nevada, the man behind the hotly-debated bee bill, is standing behind his legislation in the face of controversy; however, he says, the Legislative Council Bureau of the Nevada State Legislature is at fault for not following his original intention. The bill's original intention was to stop the spread of Africanized Bees in Nevada, he says, which needs to be dealt with on a state level.

I just returned from Orange, Virginia from a conference held at Montpelier, former US President James Madison's estate. I was chosen among applicants to attend this conference because I think our community needs to know the cool educational opportunities in which teachers are embarking. Sierra Nevada Ballet welcomes in the Spring Season with the annual production of Brew, Brats and Ballet-A Celebration of choreography on April 6 (7:30 PM) and April 7 (2:00 PM) at the Reno Little Theater and on April 13 (7:00 PM) at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

This year the BBB presentation features six different choreographers with each one presenting a special short work and a short talk before it. The program culminates with a post performance Q and A session between choreographers and audience.
