We’re bringing back the Home & Garden Show in the Pavilion.

The event is held at Mills Park in Carson City located at 1111 E William Street from June 4 through 7, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events and activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. On Friday, Muscle Powered will host a morning walk at the Carson City Multi-Use Path at 8 a.m. And there's coin press demonstrations at the Nevada State Museum.

Safe Grad has been a tradition for Carson High since 1988, started by community volunteers, after a series of graduation incidents and deaths related to alcohol. Safe Grad is a parent and community sponsored all-night party that begins the evening after graduation at the Carson City Community Center, and this year they are looking for volunteers to help fulfill their mission.

Carson City's Holiday with a Hero announced Wednesday that its annual Holiday Crawl through downtown Carson City will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Live stage music played simultaneously Saturday evening from the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center on West King Street to Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge at Adams and North Carson Street.

CARSON CITY — When the American Expeditionary Force deployed to France during World War I, so did the Salvation Army.

Yeah, it’s hot out there, but it’s the area happenings that are sizzling. The Carson City Fair at Fuji Park offers a plethora of entertainment for all ages including tractor pulls, a carnival, and farm animals. Under the shade of the Mills Park cottonwoods, you’ll have all day to peruse the varied vehicles in the annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The sun will come out tomorrow, but it’s the stars that are coming out tonight for the free Levitt Amp Concert at the Brewery Arts Center.

Ready for a good time? The Carson City Fair runs all day and culminates with a special concert in the arena starring Journey Unlimited. Car lovers are in for a treat: you can head down to the Carson Mall for their monthly cruise night, or roll into the Max Casino to get registered for the 33rd annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show. The Trippin King Snakes take the stage in McFadden Plaza for a free all-ages show. Break a leg to the kids of Youth Theater Carson City; they open their production of ‘Bye, Bye, Birdie’ at the Community Center this evening.

It almost seems like the weekend is starting early, with all the great times offered today. The Carson City Fair is in full swing and will offer family-friendly fun through Sunday. Movie-lovers of all ages will enjoy tonight’s Movie on the Plaza: Princess Bride. It’s free to attend, but you’ll want to bring your own seating. It’s not lions and tigers and bears down at Fuji Park, it’s bunnies and chickens, lambs and calves. The Carson City Fair has returned and it’s bringing all the excitement that one can expect from a down-home event. The talented kids in our regional 4-H programs will be showing off their hard work, carnival rides will be whirling, and the music will be playing. Our local bus, the JAC, is lending a hand and offering free rides through Sunday: Route 3 will take you from downtown to Fuji Park. Food truck lovers won’t want to miss out on Wheeled Wednesday at the Brewery Arts Center.

Sierra Music Society is pleased to announce that the always popular “P’Opera!” is planning a fun-filled evening with its “P’Opera! Walks the Red Carpet” at Napa-Sonoma South in Reno at 7671 S. Virginia Street on Sunday, Aug. 19.

The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1975 will bring to Carson City Winter Wine, Spirits and All That Jazz, an evening of wine, beer and spirit tasting, featuring the very best in art, music and entertainment that the area has to offer happening for the second year all over the campus of the Brewery Arts Center.

Labor Day Weekend Highlights

Carson City:

• Treasure hunt on Saturday at the Carson City Historical Society Rummage and Yard Sale at the Forman-Roberts House Museum at 1207 N. Carson St. Free tours of the museum will also be available during the 9am-4pm event.
• Take a ride on the Virginia and Truckee #25 Steam Engine at the Nevada State Train Museum Friday through Monday.

Do you enjoy Saturday Night Live? Then don't miss CHS's very own Monday Night Live! Glowsticks, hilarity, and dancing teachers at the Carson City Community Center on Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 with student ID and $5 general admission.

Sunday was the annual Fall Fest at Fuji Park in Carson City hosted by St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community Church in Carson City. Though the skies had smoke and even a few rain drops, the spirit was alive with plenty of food, games, booths, crafts and music entertainment.

C-SPAN and Charter have partnered to bring the 2013 C-SPAN Bus to Carson City and Reno on Thursday, April 4. During the stops, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about C-SPAN’s public affairs programming and resources.

The interactive bus will be at the Nevada State Legislative Building, 9:30-11 a.m. at the corner of 4th Street and South Carson Street in Carson City.
