The next event, A Day at the Ranchette, is today, Sunday, September 20, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., features the Sagebrush Rebels. This event was moved from Silver Saddle Ranch, and in-person attendance is sold out. However, it will be live-streamed on Facebook by A to Zen Media in Carson City. The next event, on Sunday, September 13, features Niall McGuinness & the New World Jazz Project playing soul, Latin, and world jazz from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The five-piece band, including reeds, keyboard, bass, drums, and percussion, will be live-streamed from Empire Ranch Golf by A to Zen Media.

The first event, on Sunday, August 30, at 3:00 p.m., features The Jazzettes - Cami Thompson, Erika Paul, and Julie Machado - three wildly talented singing musician friends who may change the way you look at Jazz.

The Mile High Jazz Band Association presents a jazz-related drive-in movie, “High Society,” on Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20, as part of the 2020 Jazz & Beyond Festival.

It will be shown in the parking lot of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street, in Carson City. Admission is free. Show time is available when calling for reservations, which are required for each vehicle and can be made by calling 775-883-4154.

The Carson City Jazz and Beyond Music and Art Festival is taking a new direction in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The festival was founded in 2004. This is the first year in which gathering of large crowds at musical events has been restricted due to health concerns.

The Mile High Jazz Band Association recently produced a video, "Virtual Jazz & Poetry: Running Out." The video contains six short acts, each consisting of the reading of a poem and the performance of a related piece of music.

The Jazz and Beyond festival committee announces that the winner of the 2020 poster and program cover art contest is Karen Kreyeski, for her entry, “After Midnight Jam.” The winner of the T-shirt design is Evan Tynan, for “2020 Jazz & Beyond Festival Logo.” These were selected from ten entries to highlight the 17th annual Carson City music and art festival.

The Mile High Jazz Band with vocalist Jakki Ford will be joined by several poets and readers on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., for an evening of big-band music and poetry on the theme "Fate & Fortune."

The thaw continues around the capital city as we head into Tuesday with highs expected in the mid-50s. Events lined up feature morning and evening walks hosted by Muscle Powered, Carson City TRIAD will give a presentation at the senior center on scams targeting older adults. Also on tap, the Carson City Classic Cinema Club presents a Jimmy Stewart favorite "You Can't Take it With You" at the BAC; if you love music, there's Big-Band Jazz X2 at the Carson City Community Center, and you can join Carson Now as it celebrates its 10th anniversary at Living the Good Life.

It's "big-band jazz times two" when the Mile High Jazz Band and Carson Middle School’s Royal Blue Jazz Band present the 17th annual combined Jazz Extravaganza concert, on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 7 p.m., in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. Mile High Jazz Band Association announces that mannequins will be auctioned off by silent auction during Jazz & Beyond concerts. Proceeds benefit Carson City Arts and Culture Coalition's scholarship fund for a student of the arts.

The 16th Annual Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music and Art Festival kicks off Friday at Bliss Mansion, 608 Elizabeth Street from 4 to 6 p.m., and continues that evening at the Governor’s Mansion, directly across Mountain Street. The free event includes live music, art, food, and tours of the Bliss Mansion.
