Got a New Year’s resolution? Be ready to work for it
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Thu, 12/31/2015 - 1:52pmAs Carson City residents prepare to welcome 2016, there is something to be said about the annual tradition of making New Year’s resolutions.
The practice can be traced back to ancient Babylon, where Babylonians would make promises to their gods to pay their debts and return borrowed objects at the start of every new year. The concept of making a new year resolution is now widely practiced today around the world.
Unfortunately, the world has a history of breaking New Year’s resolutions about as long as it does of making them.

We all share a common problem in this world. That problem is called people. Most of our challenges and daily frustrations can be traced to a person. Is this truthful in the sense of being right or is this just our flawed human perception? The world, many might argue, is how we perceive it; that is in fact our reality. So, I challenge us to decide, what is the wise thing to do when a problem arises?

Green energy requires serious green
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sun, 10/18/2015 - 6:37pmHave you ever wondered why there has been such a big push in the past decade or two toward so-called green energy?
I surmise that the reason has less to do with saving the environment, and more to do with saving the pockets of people who have tied up their fortunes in it.
Solar and wind power sources have been around for decades, but they’ve never really caught on. Kind of like electric cars. There have been fads and trends toward them, but none that have been proven to last the tests of time.
