Carson City to break ground Feb. 29 on South Carson Complete Streets Project

The community is invited to celebrate the expansion of the Carson Street improvements at the South Carson Complete Streets Project groundbreaking ceremony. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at 10 a.m., at the former armory site located at 2361 South Carson Street, and will feature construction equipment for children of all ages to explore and climb on.

Christmas Through the Years, live music, comedy and more: Carson City region readies for busy weekend

Heading into the weekend, post-Christmas holiday activities continue around the Carson City region over the next three days. 'A Taste of the Good Life' now serving up lunchtime fare at Living the Good Life in Carson City

Midday has got a bit more variety in Carson City now with the new lunch menu being offered by Living the Good Life.

A Taste of the Good Life is run by Eddie Miller, who has taken it upon herself to offer a tastings menu at the Good Life from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Temporary Schedule for the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range begins Tuesday

CARSON CITY — In response to the seasonal transition affecting daylight hours, the Rifle and Pistol Range will temporarily change its hours to Tuesday through Friday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting Sept. 10, 2019. Daylight hours are beginning to reflect the occurrence of seasonal change. To ensure adequate and safe accommodations for range enthusiasts the range must adopt the new operational hours.

Events around the Carson City region for Wednesday, May 29

Is it the middle of the work week already? That's what a 3-day holiday weekend brings. Heading into Wednesday, May 29, 2019, there's a number of events around the Carson City region lined up, including Salsa dancing classes at Yaple's Ballroom, a live music show at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City (hosted by the Canvas Cafe) and a live jazz jam at Living the Good Life in Carson City.

Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range open Wednesday and Thursday evenings at no cost

Beginning April 17, the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will be open for free public use on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. During this time, the range will be monitored by Carson City Park Rangers, as they are Range Safety Officers, certified by the National Rifle Association.

Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range open Sundays only for now

Due to verified reports involving the likelihood of stray bullets entering into populated areas originating from the discharge of firearms at the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range, a temporary operating schedule was implemented along with the increased presence of Range Safety Officers made available by the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club, the city’s non-profit partner for the operation of the range.
