“The announcement has gone out for artistic bike rack submissions,” she said, adding that the city budget will be the next hot topic. “If folks attended the public presentation, that can be discussed, and there is also concern about storm water rate increases.”

For those wanting to attend, meet at noon on the steps of Carson City Community Center. Take a sack lunch if desired.

Everyone is invited to attend, whether they reside in Ward 1 or not.

“This will be a great time to enjoy this wonderful, long-awaited sunshine,” Abowd. “I would also like to hear from people their storm-related concerns or about any damage that may not be on the radar and how their neighborhoods came through.”

Abowd also said that low-cost loans are being made available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for some damages not covered by homeowner’s insurance.

This is an opportunity for constituents to express their ideas, thoughts and opinions about the many changes and things happening in Carson City.

There are no specific topics this month, which opens up the possibility to discuss whatever folks want.

Please note there will be no Walkabout in January, but will resume in February.

Ogres-Holm Pottery celebrates grand opening in Carson City

Saturday's drenching rain notwithstanding, playing in mud just got easier in Carson City with the opening of Ogres-Holm Pottery in the Carson Mall.
