The third annual Friends of Coach Blaver Memorial Fundraiser to benefit the Northern Nevada Alzheimer’s Association will take place Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 4 - 7PM, at the Westside Pour House & Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery parking lot, 110 Telegraph St. Carson City, NV 89703.

Heading into Labor Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days, which include guided tours at the Nevada State Museum, movie showings at Mills and Schulz Ranch Park, a school supply car cruise and Bingo fundraiser at the Carson Mall, trash pickup at Lake Tahoe, a Rolling Stones tribute band at Carson Nugget, Virginia City’s Labor Day Parade and more!

Heading into Thursday, August 29, 2019 and we're ready and due for the upcoming three-day holiday weekend ahead. Looking around the Carson City area for Thursday there's art showings, a Muscle Powered hike, a Partnership Carson City training and lunch and then a vigil to recognize and prevent opioid overdose and more.

On Sunday, July 14 the Jimenez brothers were involved in a head-on collision with other friends. This occurred during a return trip from Las Vegas. Alberto Jimenez surfed a broken femur along with a serious facial laceration. His brother Alejandro Jimenez will need physical therapy to strengthen his body after the crash.

Coming up on Thursday, August 22, 2019, we can expect continued sunny skies with a daytime near 90. Among upcoming events: Thursday is the final day of the Jukebox International Film Festival at the Carson City Community Center. Take in a film screening and talk to the filmmakers who made them. There's a Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City lunch connect at Red's Old 395 Grill, plus Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park and a volunteer expo hosted by Leadership Douglas County. There's also a discussion about aviation history and trends at the Nevada State Museum, a Carson City GOP information meeting on Block Chain technology, Jazz and Beyond music festival events and more. The children’s section of the Carson City Library is made to be inviting. Brightly colored rugs and furniture are set against the backdrop of a playful mural of the Kennedy’s Children’s corner. But there’s one problem: The shelving.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Second Wind Thrift Store is celebrating their grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and special comments from Mayor Bob Crowell on Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. Second Wind Thrift Store is located near the Carson City Senior Center, 901 Beverly Drive, Carson City.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow, Thursday, April 18 to award Length of Service certificates to city employees, discuss contracts for new furniture in the sheriff’s office, rifle range usage, a family planning services grant and more.

CARSON CITY — Carson Tahoe Health is proud to announce the completion of a recent renovation to the emergency department triage area. The newly designed space maximizes resources for quick care (testing and treatment) and serves as a monitored, internal waiting area. Newly carpeted and furnished, the triage area was completed and opened to patients just last week.

While much of the Sierra is under a Winter Storm Warning, strong wind gusts in Carson City and throughout much of Western Nevada has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Advisory for the region through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

February storms that saturated the Carson City and Lake Tahoe regions with rain and snow won't be forgotten anytime soon, with more unsettled weather ahead this week as the month comes to a close, according to the National Weather Service.
