A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new location of Intimate Designs (ID) Floral Wednesday night, with Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell doing the honors.

My name is Christine Renee Miller and I passed away in Carson City this last Wednesday, January 9, at 9:02 p.m.

I was born in Reno on May 16, 1979 and placed in the arms of an angel. I grew up with the love of a wonderful family in Carson City and departed with their blessing.

I went to school at Carson High and graduated in 1997 with good memories and even better friends. I brought two beautiful daughters into this world and passed away with them by my side.

Mark William Yenter, recently retired deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Carson City resident, died May 25, 2018. He was 60 years old.

A funeral service will be held for Maj. Gen. Yenter at the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, with interment to follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery here. He will receive full military honors.

Born to Dr. James F. and Marie (Gold) McAnally on September 28,1938. Graduated from Roseville High School, Class of 1957. He graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, receiving the Mu Sigma Alpha outstanding Academic Proficiency Award. He was very active in his community and to name a few, he was a member of Masonic Lodge #222, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Roseville Cemetery Board of Directors.

Carson City vets group that does family funeral transports continues fundraiser for bus repairs

The Northern Nevada All Veteran Honor Guard based in Carson City reports it has received more than $3,700 in donations for repairs to its shuttle bus it uses to transport families to and from military funerals. The honor guard still needs help in order to achieve its vehicle repair goal.

UPDATE 3:08PM: The following is a statement from Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes regarding the passing of Timothy Jones.
“Our hearts ache for all the families and individuals involved in the car accident in Kings Canyon. We learned yesterday from law enforcement that one of our students passed away. Throughout the day today, the administration at Carson High School has provided and will continue to provide, as needed this week, grief counseling and support for students and staff. As more is learned about a memorial service, we will pass that information along.”

Family members confirmed via social media Sunday that 16-year-old Carson High School student Timothy Jones, one of seven students involved in a Nov. 9 crash on Kings Canyon, has died.

Unclaimed remains of 27 veterans to receive a military funeral in Fernley

On Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 the remains of 27 veterans will finally receive the military burial and honor they were promised through their service in the U.S. Armed Forces. The service will be held beginning at 2 p.m. at the Northern Nevada State Veterans Cemetery, located at 14 Veterans Way, in Fernley, Nev. The public is invited to attend.
