Time for another wine walk, Carson City, thanks to the Downtown Business Association. Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 and you have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Donors and Grocery Outlet have covered the cost of food and refreshments that will be served up free at the 14th annual family event.

Carson City public safety agencies set to rally Tuesday for National Night Out at Mills Park

Preparations are underway for Carson City's largest community public safety rally set to happen tonight at Mills Park. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will hosts its annual National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 pm. This will be the 14th year that the Sheriff’s Office has held this free public event that annually draws thousands of participants.

The Purple Avocado in Carson City celebrates 15 years of ‘magic’

With her son graduating from high school, Sue Jones began to rethink her own career as a math teacher at Carson High School. More and more, she was drawn back to retail, where she had gotten her start at the Ace Hardware her father owned in Incline Village.

Then it came to her — in a dream — the store that would help people connect with one another through meaningful gifts.

“I really just woke up with this idea of having a very heartfelt store,” she said.

Sunshine and bright faces moved like a breeze through Carson City’s safest street early Saturday at the 13th annual all-ages Cops and Kids event hosted by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

The block party brought children, their parents and grandparents, families and friends for a morning and mid afternoon of refreshments, music, safety demonstrations and games.

An all-ages invitation is extended to the safest street party in Carson City this Saturday at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

The 13th annual Cops and Kids is an all-out community gathering where parents and children can participate in games and activities all designed with family, health and safety in mind. The street party spans two blocks and features refreshments, music, safety demonstrations, games and more. It regularly sees at least a thousand or more children in attendance.

Lenny Chappell, a longtime Carson City businessman and former chairman of the Carson City Downtown Business Association (DBA), waived his right to a preliminary examination in Carson City Municipal Justice Court Friday, pleading guilty to charges of embezzlement and theft.

The Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum is a good place to grab a candy cane, some hot cocoa, and tell him what you’d like to find under the tree. Photographs with Santa are available at the Carson Mall Wednesday through Sunday. Genoa’s annual Breakfast with Santa has three seatings beginning at 8:30 a.m.
