Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 and you have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office DARE officer Lisa Davis holds the receipt for these items rung up at Grocery Outlet in preparation of Tuesday’s National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mills Park. Donors and Grocery Outlet have covered the cost of food and refreshments that will be served up free at the 14th annual family event.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will hosts its annual National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 pm. This will be the 14th year that the Sheriff’s Office has held this free public event that annually draws thousands of participants.

More and more, she was drawn back to retail, where she had gotten her start at the Ace Hardware her father owned in Incline Village.
Then it came to her — in a dream — the store that would help people connect with one another through meaningful gifts.
“I really just woke up with this idea of having a very heartfelt store,” she said.

The Third and Curry Farmers Market begins at 8:30 a.m. From there head north on Curry to the Spring Vintage Faire at Due Sorella. Stick around for the Downtown Business Association Wine Walk at 1 p.m. The Rotary Club brings you the Capital City Brewfest at 3 p.m. Family friendly fun hits the outdoor stage at the Brewery Arts Center: Mumbo Gumbo will have you dancing in the street.

The block party brought children, their parents and grandparents, families and friends for a morning and mid afternoon of refreshments, music, safety demonstrations and games.

The 13th annual Cops and Kids is an all-out community gathering where parents and children can participate in games and activities all designed with family, health and safety in mind. The street party spans two blocks and features refreshments, music, safety demonstrations, games and more. It regularly sees at least a thousand or more children in attendance.

At Debug Computers where, in exchange for a donation to Holiday with a Hero, you can get a photo with the man in red. The Santa Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum is a good place to grab a candy cane, some hot cocoa, and tell him what you’d like to find under the tree. Photographs with Santa are available at the Carson Mall Wednesday through Sunday. Genoa’s annual Breakfast with Santa has three seatings beginning at 8:30 a.m.
