There are many victims of crimes committed by drug abusers as witnessed in the recent burglaries in Carson City. Along with the victims whose homes were burglarized and whose sense of safety in their homes was destroyed; the drug abusers’ family bonds are broken; their children neglected, displaced, frightened and confused.

With the assistance of Greater Nevada Credit Union, your spare change can help change the lives of homeless and at-risk cats in the Carson City Area. Collect it in a jar or in a container and in a week or two take it to the GNCC nearest you. Put your change through their coin-counting machine, then take the slip to a teller and tell them it's for Catmandu. Your donation will be deposited directly into our account.

Just 50 cents provides:

Breakfast or dinner of canned food to 8 kitties
Dry kibble for 5 cats
1 dose of antibiotic to help a sick kitten

If you are looking to take advantage of National Make a Friend Day, try one of our many art galleries to spark up a conversation with a stranger. You may also strike it rich while listening to Dave Leather play the blues at Comma Coffee, or tonight, during the first of many Jazz Jams that Sassafras will be home to. It’s also National Shut-in Visitation Day, so you could always make a new friend at one of Carson City’s nursing homes.

In only two weeks a few volunteers sold lotion bars from Jordan Essentials Bath and Body products and raised $300.00 for the cats at CATMANDU! I want to thank everyone who participated and also those who bought lotion bars. It was fun and easy and the bars will be here for Valentines Day!

Catmandu and Jordan Essentials bath and body products has teamed together to raise money for Catmandu cat rescue here in Carson City. Catmandu goal is to sell 100 lotion bars which will earn them $450, thats a lot of cat food! For each $12 lotion bar sold Catmandu will earn $4.50.

Catmandu will soon be opening a small retail area at our cat rescue/sanctuary. We will feature cat-tested and cat-approved items such as scratching posts, toys, beds, collars, etc. We also plan to carry unique cat-related clothing items, crafts, etc.. We would love to support local community-based artisans and crafters as much as possible in our store. If you make sale-able cat related items and would like to sell them at Catmandu, please contact Linda at 297-3419.

We at Catmandu send a heart-felt thank you to all the volunteers and donors who helped us throughout 2014 to provide a safe and happy place for homeless cats in our community. Thank you to everyone who donated critical funds, supplies, food, time and energy!

We are looking for volunteers to help with our Have A Heart Valentine fundraiser to help raise money for the rescue efforts of Catmandu cat rescue.

Since opening the doors to the first cate in March of 2014, Catmandu has forever given homes to 83 cats and kittens. As of now there are currently 47 in residence ready for adoption.

As A Scentsy Consultant I have a chance to win a big gift card for being one of 10 with the most votes for our Christmas video. If I win I would like to share it with the people at Frost Yasmer Estates, they are a wonderful group of people with disabilities and I would like to throw them a big party! They helped me with the video and we had lots of fun! I will also like to give the kitties at Catmandu a special Christmas with stuff they will enjoy and can use. I'm sure I will find other worthy causes to help as well.

'Tis the Season, Carson City! Holiday cheer is in the wind, and we have plenty of wind right now. This weekend is jam-packed with food and toy drives, concerts, and Santa-sightings, so bundle up and have a fun time enjoying our great city.

We at Catmandu would like to thank the good people of Carson City and the surrounding area for all your kind support. We exist because of you. So many of you have given your time and energy to the kitties; as well as donating blankets, beds, food, money and much more. We can't thank you enough! A few months ago my neighbor found 4 kittens in her back yard. They were skin and bones and very frightened so she did what most of us would do, she began feeding them. When I got involved they had filled out considerably and two of them had started warming up to humans. Unfortunately, my neighbor is allergic to cats and my home was full-up with three dogs.
