Attending seminars taught by professionals is the best method to keep abreast of current trends in the business world, although many of the sessions planned for the Chamber’s Professional Development Series beginning Jan. 17 can translate to government management jobs as well.

AAA Carson City to host Nov. 1 Fall Festival and Chamber Breakfast Club

AAA Carson City is hosting an open house Tuesday, Nov. 1 in conjunction with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce breakfast mixer.

The chamber mixer begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast and coffee at the AAA office, 2901 S. Carson Street. The fall festival continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. AAA will provide product discounts, games with prizes, and refreshments.

Candidates for Carson City Mayor and State Assembly District 40 addressed a nearly full house of voters at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall Wednesday night during a candidate forum sponsored by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

The candidates participated in a structured debate moderated by Nevada Appeal Editor Adam Trumble.

As a group, they were asked questions on specific topics and each given two minutes to provide a response.

That single sentence written by Robert E. Price, author of “The Bakersfield Sound” and award-winning Executive Editor of the newspaper Bakersfield Californian, struck a chord with me, for as we go forth with our “reimagining,” we still don’t have a clear vision/identity of who we were or who we are today.
