Operating costs such as rent and utilities make it impossible for a nonprofit whose main funding source has been cut by 75% to make ends meet.

COVID testing Tuesday in Yerington following high number of positive tests at assisted living facility

Lyon County, City of Yerington, Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad County Health Care Coalition will hold a COVID testing operation on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.. The testing will be at the new City Hall (Old National Guard Building) located on the corner of Main Street and East Goldfield Avenue.

High Volume of Positive Covid-19 reported at assisted living facility in Yerington

Lyon County officials have been notified that an assisted living facility, Mason Valley Residence, in Yerington had a high number of positive tests for COVID-19.

It is reported that 34 out of 53 tests results were positive.

When the families and friends of Lyfe Recovery clients were introduced to the facility, they were sold on the idea that their loved ones would be in a supervised sober environment to help them beat their addictions. However, what Lyfe Recovery turned out to be was a shell, barely meeting the minimum requirements. Unfortunately, for Joe Tummarello, the minimum for his own needs weren’t met during his time at the Carson City based sober-living facility, which allegedly contributed to his death.

Carson Valley Senior Living and Memory Care donates $3,750

Carson Valley Senior Living and Memory Care donated 50 percent of the community’s total move-in fees from November and December 2018 to the Wounded Warrior Project. The amount totaled $3,750.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001.

Memory Care Expansion Begins at Summit Estates Senior Living

Summit Estates Senior Living and Memory Care is expanding.

Summit Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, a Mission Senior Living community, is expanding its memory care neighborhood with a 3,200 square-foot addition that includes accommodations for eight additional residents. The $900,000 construction project began on Feb. 28 and is expected to take about six months to complete.
