UPDATE 5:55PM: One lane of traffic has been opened on northbound I-580 near Arrowhead, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel. Southbound I-580 remains closed and will likely remain so for at least an hour. Several accidents happened due to icy conditions just before 5 p.m. tonight on the freeway near Lakeview.

Several vehicle crashes on I-580 north of Carson City happened just before 5 p.m. forcing the closure of southbound traffic at Eastlake Boulevard and northbound I-580 near Arrowhead.
One vehicle crash involved a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and one of the crashes is an injury accident. Also one crash was reported in the northbound lane, said Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel. There are at least six crashes reported near Lakeview Hill.

Carson City paramedics better prepared to respond after IHOP shooting
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 09/04/2015 - 11:11pmThe first firefighter/paramedic on the scene, Bob Schreihans will never forget what he saw, heard — even smelled — when he responded to the Sept. 6, 2011, shooting at the Carson City IHOP, where five people were killed and seven injured.
“Some of those things will stick with me forever,” he said. “It changes the way you look at things and the way you operate on a long-term basis to the short-term. I still can’t stand the smell of maple syrup and pancakes.”
It also changed the way he does his job.

Emergency crews sent to motorcycle crash at I-580 at Fairview and 2 other accidents

NHP also reports there were no injuries on a single-vehicle Jeep accident that flipped in the area of Spooner Junction.

A man, also without protective gear, stood just below her. Since he was looking up as she sprayed insecticide over his head, drift rained down onto his face and into his eyes.
Carson City rescue respond to crash involving child on bicycle, wreck at Long and Carson

Also, there were no injuries reported from the accident at Long and Carson Street.

Carson City emergency crews were called to two accidents this afternoon, one involving a child on a bicycle hit by a car and the other, a vehicle accident with injuries at Long and Carson streets.

Two accidents within minutes of each other on Carson City I-580 Freeway

The first accident, reported at 1:10 p.m. is in the southbound lane near the College Parkway ramp.
Emergency crews respond to accidents at Highway 50 and Airport, Arrowhead near Goni
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 04/08/2015 - 8:00amCarson City emergency crews were called to two vehicle accidents Wednesday morning before 8 a.m. The first one was reported at 7:48 a.m. on Arrowhead west of Goni. First responders with the Carson City Sheriff's Office report airbag deployment and a woman injured. The second accident is at Highway 50 and Airport Road, reported as an injury accident to the Nevada Highway Patrol at 7:52 a.m. Expect traffic delays.
Carson City fire and rescue respond to accidents in front of Legislative building, Highway 50
Submitted by editor on Mon, 04/06/2015 - 6:20pmA minor fender-bender accident happened early this evening in front of the Nevada Legislative Building at Fourth and Carson Street, briefly delaying traffic. An ambulance was called after a person in one of the vehicles asked to be checked out. The accident happened after 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, a second accident happened just after 6 p.m. involving a single-vehicle into a pole at Highway 50 and Airport Road. Carson City Sheriff's Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to investigate. No injuries were reported.

Two Care Flight helicopters called after two-vehicle injury accident at Highway 50
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 12/29/2014 - 3:30pmUPDATE: Two people have been flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center after a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon. The westbound lane of Highway 50 has been reopened for thru-traffic. The eastbound lane, in which the accident occurred near the Pick-n-Pull, was being diverted around the accident scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is handling the accident investigation. The condition of those injured are unknown at this time.

Two Care Flight air ambulance helicopters were ordered and Carson City fire and ambulance responded to an injury accident in the eastbound lane of Highway 50 east located just west of the entrance to Pick-n-Pull, an area where there have been several injury accidents in the past.
