Telegraph Square Sign Unveiling: How it came to be
The Downtown Telegraph Square Sign was revealed on Saturday, Nov. 30. Merchants of Telegraph Square, Downtown 2020 Group, Carson City Supervisor Lori Bagwell and a small community of people gathered together to celebrate the unveiling of the Telegraph Square Sign.
A raffle followed with local business donations and The Union supplying pizza.
Restoring the sign was quite an undertaking. It had been on Telegraph Square for 15 years and after the Curry Street renovation it was found in the Carson City Public Works boneyard. It took a village and 3 months to make this sign a reality.
Transaction of Events:
— Gathering the participating Businesses
— Public works delivered the sign to Vital Signs
— Vital Signs dismantled, repaired and delivered the sign to Alltizer's to be powder coated
— American Metal Worx custom made and re-created the severely damaged arm
— Vital Signs picked up the completed sign, did the final repairs and lettering
— Public Works then picked up the pole with our dedication sign to install it with a concrete base
— Vital signs reassembled the arms with the lettering on the pole and covered it for the unveiling
As an Interior designer I work with reputable businesses and I cannot speak more highly of a more respectful group of people and Thank You all for your cooperation. God Bless and Have a Wonderful Christmas.
