NHP: Two suffer non-life threatening injuries in Highway 50 crash near Stagecoach
A crash Tuesday morning in the Stagecoach area near Silver Springs sent two to the hospital via CareFlight with non-life threatening injuries, a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper said.
The crash, reported to NHP at 7:43 a.m. involved a semi truck and a Jeep Cherokee near Highway 50 and Apache. Both occupants of the Jeep Cherokee were flown by CareFight to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
One person sustained injuries to the legs, while the other occupant suffered a head injury. Both are non-life threatening, said NHP Trooper Duncan Dauber. Initial reports are that the Jeep Cherokee was occupied by two teenagers. We are awaiting confirmation. The semi truck driver was not injured.
During the crash response, the westbound travel lane of Highway 50 was shut down for emergency vehicles. The westbound lane was reopened at 8:36 a.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
