Downtown Coin gives away turkeys to Dream Center in Carson City
More than a dozen needy individuals or families will enjoy a Christmas feast courtesy the Downtown Coin Club of Carson City.
The club, located inside Downtown Coin at 111 W. Telegraph Street in downtown Carson City, collected sixteen frozen turkeys and donated them Saturday to the Northern Nevada Dream Center, a local program that helps meet the basic needs of struggling people in the community.
Members of Downtown Coin Club first distributed 10 turkeys for Thanksgiving Nov. 18 to the Douglas County Senior Center and its Meals On Wheels program.
“We have had a great year and would like to pass on the good will,” Club President Dan Wilson said. “Our goal is to have locals enjoy a Turkey dinner that they may not otherwise.”
