Downtown Trump Rally moves to Governor’s Mansion
A dozen or so demonstrators broke off from the downtown Trump rally Saturday afternoon to demonstrate in front of the Governor’s mansion, facing off against Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies and Governor’s Mansion security officers.
Chants of “stop the steal,” and “recall Sisolak,” accompanied readings of the constitution and singing of the National Anthem, at one point accompanied by a saxophone.
One man holding a “JFK Jr. is Donald Trump” flag yelled at Carson City deputies through a megaphone and started a chant of “no more bullshit” and asked if the Governor was going to shut down the state for the common cold or for the bunion on his foot.
Regarding numerous complaints about demonstrators being in the street on Carson Street and impeding traffic, Carson City Sheriff Furlong stated that they are dealing with it on a case by case basis, and that there have been few confrontations between demonstrators.
As demonstrators left the Governor’s mansion at 2:30 p.m., the man on the megaphone told deputies and officers that they would be back on Tuesday and that deputies would need “a lot more people.”
