UPDATE: 3:05PM: Fire crews appear to have a handle on the controlled burn-turned-brush fire near Genoa Lakes Golf Course as the Carson City brush engine called in earlier to assist has been released from the incident. Also released was an engine from Lake Tahoe.

A Carson City Fire Department brush engine has been called to assist the East Fork Fire Protection District in Douglas County with a reported brush fire near Genoa Lakes Golf Course off Jacks Valley Road in Genoa.
According to Carson City Emergency Dispatch, the fire was started by a controlled burn that got out of hand.
