Pair held in Douglas County; face kidnapping charges in South Lake Tahoe

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department on Saturday, August 13, at about 3:30 p.m. to advise that a kidnapping had occurred in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. According to South Lake Tahoe police, a 1-year-old baby was taken from his mother’s residence by Salvador Miguel Aquino-Villavicencio and his mother, Josefina Villavicencio, both of whom reside in Douglas County at the Holbrook Trailer Park. South Lake Tahoe police officers advised that they were obtaining arrest warrants for the two, and requested Douglas County Sheriff's Office respond to the Holbrook trailer park and attempt to locate the child.
Douglas County Deputies and members of the Tri-County Gang Unit responded to the Holbrook Trailer Park at 1501 Hwy 395 So., space #14, and contacted Salvador and Josefina Villavicencio. The victim child was also located inside the residence, and appeared unharmed. Both Salvador and Josefina Villavicencio were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Douglas County Jail on fugitive no-bail arrest warrants for kidnapping and criminal conspiracy, and are now awaiting extradition.
