Motorcycle accident reported Northbound I-580 and Koontz overpass

Just before 6 p.m. on Saturday evening a motorcycle accident was reported on Northbound I-580 near the Koontz overpass.

The motorcycle was reported to have struck a trailer; however, the motorcyclist has fled on foot.

First responders are enroute.

Motorists should seek alternate routes or use caution in the area.

According to dispatch a travel trailer has smoke coming from the walls.

Just before 2 p.m. Friday afternoon a vehicle fire involving a horse trailer was reported 8 miles up the hill from Spooner.

The horses were removed from the trailer and were out of harms way.

However, the fire was reported to be spreading towards brush at 1:56 p.m.

Known gang member arrested by Carson City deputies for domestic battery second

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2900 block of Mayflower Way Thursday night for domestic battery second.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on the report of a woman sustaining injuries to her face.

The woman told dispatch she had a busted lip and had been battered by her boyfriend. She advised the man had left the residence approximately twenty minutes before she called 911.

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI following an incident at a North Carson Street pizza takeout restaurant.

Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest restricts campfires, smoking to reduce COVID-19 threat to firefighters

The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is implementing fire restrictions earlier than usual this year to reduce the number of human-caused fires and reduce firefighter exposure to COVID-19 during the current pandemic.

Non-injury accident reported on Roop involving vehicle and light pole

According to dispatch, a non-injury accident was reported at 2:15 on Roop Street. A vehicle pulling a trailer appears to have lost control and struck a light pole. There are no injuries reported at this time.
