Carson City arrest log: Man jailed after breaking window, throwing rocks during bar fight
A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly fighting, throwing rocks and breaking a window at a bar in the 300 block of East William Street, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched at around 1:30 a.m. to the bar for a fight. The arresting officer arrived and was directed to a man who was bleeding from his mouth and hands.
The suspect began yelling and tightening his arms as if he was going to fight. He began growling and appeared very agitated, according to the arrest report. The deputy placed handcuffs on the man to keep him from becoming physically violent.
The bar owner stated the man had been in a confrontation with a customer and was told to leave the establishment by staff. The man then broke the window facing east on the west side of the bar and challenged the customer to go outside and fight. The man left for a short few minutes, walking up Stewart Street and then returning to the bar entrance, this time throwing rocks and a chain at the building, according to the arrest report.
The officer spoke with the man while in the patrol car. He was asked, five times, to identify himself. The man refused to give a name or date of birth. The officer explained to the man that he was being arrested for destruction of property.
The man became upset and started banging his head against the partition in the police vehicle that separates the front and rear seats. The man screamed out vehicle window and was spitting blood in the back seat and at the window. The man slid his hands underneath his feet and placed his arms in front of him. He used his teeth to rip the wiring out of the vehicle’s rear radar mount, according to the arrest report.
The officer was concerned for the man’s safety and had him step outside the vehicle to again to see if he had any weapons or was going to hurt himself or others. The officer found a wallet in the man’s back pants pocket that contained his driver’s license that identified him. He told the officer: “There. Now you know who I am,” the arrest report states.
He remained uncooperative at the jail and made suicidal statements. He had to be placed in a safety cell at intake. He was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of destruction of property, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. Bail: $1,291.
