Weather Service warns of dangerous blizzard conditions in Sierra, heavy snow for Carson City area
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 01/26/2021 - 10:53amThough the skies around Carson City were blue Tuesday morning, a winter storm is on the way, with various warnings for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra, as well as down to the valley floors around the Carson City area.
The National Weather Service in Reno warns that if you have to travel into the Sierra, do so early Tuesday as conditions will rapidly change Tuesday evening.

Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 01/22/2021 - 6:39pmOn December 14, 2020 Xavier Pierce ran away from his home in Carson City. Xavier is believed to be in the Carson City area and may be riding a red bicycle.
On Thursday morning, December 17, 2020 Xavier’s mother discovered his wet clothing in their garage and it appeared he changed his clothing. Xavier does not have any medical problems and is not considered at risk.
Xavier has returned to his mother’s home on at least two different occasions, the most recent being on January 4, 2021.
Xavier’s mother believes he is coming to the home when she is gone to change clothes.

As of late Sunday afternoon, drift smoke was evident in Washoe Valley, Carson City as well as into Silver Springs and Dayton.
