Carson City deputies make arrests for battery, resisting and obstructing
A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 11:51 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Carson Street for suspicion of battery, a sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were sent to the area after a reporting person stated they heard yelling coming from an apartment with a man yelling "knock it off" and a female making threatening statements.
Deputies arrived and observed a woman carrying clothing to a sedan parked out front. The officer announced their presence and made contact with the woman. She said she was in a fight with her roommate over an old phone that had been missing since April 18 that she believes the man stole, the report states.
She said she confronted him about a $100 bill that she stated was missing from her purse. When she went to talk with him about the money she stated the two began to fight and she was hit in the face. Deputies did not observe any marks or bruising. Later she stated that she was pushed away from the man.
Deputies interviewed the victim who said the woman came out of her bedroom and started an argument about her missing phone and $100 missing and began attacking him. He said she punch and scratched him and that he pushed her away. He said she began moving her personal belongings to her vehicle.
Deputies observed four scratch marks, one bleeding, on the man's left breast area near his armpit; an approximately 1 inch cut on his forehead and several other minor scratches on his upper body. He stated he wished to press charges for battery against the woman. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 9:55 p.m. in the 800 block of Randall Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing and resisting, a sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area regarding a domestic dispute. Dispatch advised two brothers were yelling loudly at each other. There was a previous domestic dispute earlier in the night as well but the subjects had left the area when deputies arrived.
A deputy arrived at the location and saw two men exit the residence. A deputy asked who was fighting. One of the men said he was one but that the other man with him was not involved. The man, who was subsequently arrested, said he didn't know and that he was leaving. Not knowing if the man was involved, the deputy told him he was not free to leave.
The man began to pull his identification from his pocket and asked if he was being detained. The deputy told him he was being detained. He then told the deputy "that's ridiculous" and told the officer to take a picture of his identification. The officer told him if he attempted to leave he was going to place him in handcuffs and put him in the patrol car.
The suspect stated he understood and the deputy thank him. The officer asked him to stand next to the other man where they were close enough until backup arrived. The suspect didn't comply, the arrest report states.
The officer instructed him 3 times to move to the area.The suspect continued to ignore the instructions. The officer attempted to detain him with handcuffs and the man pulled away and said to the officer "are you f***ing for real?" and pulled away again. As the officer again attempted to pull the man's arm around his back the man grabbed the officer around his upper torso. The officer pulled him to the ground. Shortly thereafter two sergeants arrived on scene and assisted in cuffing the man. Bail: $824.
— A 63-year-old transient was arrested Wednesday, 4:19 p.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued April 23, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
