Firefighting sheep invade Lakeview, almost make it onto freeway in Carson City
While Lakeview residents in Carson City may be used to deer and the occasional bear, they were in for a new surprise visit from a flock of fire fighting sheep Friday evening.
According to resident Wade Olds, the neighbors believed the shepherd had fallen asleep and his flock ran away, something straight out of a nursery rhyme.
Residents banded together to herd the flock back to safety after they nearly made it onto the freeway at Lakeview.
"We were sitting in our backyard having dinner when we heard them come over the top of the hill and they began flooding into the neighborhood under no one's control," said Olds. "Neighbors from at least seven different homes came out and helped herd them back into the hills."
While we don’t know for sure the shepherd was asleep, we do know that his sneaky flock definitely pulled the wool over his eyes! I'm sure we can all wish the sheep well wishes with a group baa-bye!
