Carson City detectives investigate overnight break-in at Subway off North Carson Street
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in that happened sometime overnight or early Tuesday morning at the Subway restaurant at the north end of Carson City.
At least two, possibly three people entered through the roof of the building at 100 West Winnie Lane, climbed down through a ventilation pipe, rummaged through the restaurant and took an undetermined amount of cash and other items, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brian Humphrey.
An employee preparing to open the restaurant for breakfast alerted Carson City dispatch to the break-in and patrol officers were sent to the scene at the corner of Winnie Lane and North Carson Street.
A sweep of the restaurant was done and detectives were called, said Humphrey. They want to determine if the break-in is in any way related to one that happened sometime late Sunday or early Monday morning at the Bank of America Building on William Street.
In that crime, at least two people entered the building and broke into an online business office located on the second floor. Video surveillance was gathered at that crime scene as well.
