Carson City Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a break-in of the Bank of America office building on William Street that happened sometime overnight.
A second floor business, that deals with online sales, was burglarized sometime late Sunday night or early Monday morning, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Lt. Brian Humphrey.
Detectives and deputies did a full sweep of the building Monday morning, which has since been re-opened open for business. The top-to-bottom and rooftop check was done to make sure there was no one hiding inside the building, said Humphrey. Between the bank and the offices, the are dozens of employees that work inside the multi-story building.
The Sheriff’s Office was contacted at 6:54 a.m. and the building was reopened after 9 a.m. Investigators are also reviewing video surveillance.
Several offices are located inside the large building at the corner of Roop and William Street, including an office for Sen. Harry Reid. Only one business within the office building had been burglarized, said Humphrey. It is unknown at this time what was taken from the business, said Humphrey.
