Nearly a pound of methamphetamine seized, two arrested in Carson City drug bust
Nearly one pound of methamphetamine with a street value of around $45,000 was seized and two were arrested Wednesday in Carson City following a month-long Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force investigation, a sergeant with the Nevada Department of Public Safety said.
The arrests were made around noon at a fast food restaurant on North Carson Street, said Sgt. Dan Johnson of the Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force investigation division.
Arrested were Mardell Johnson, 41, and Desire Lyn Kissel-Hunziker, 25, both of Reno. They were arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of level 3 trafficking, sales of a controlled substance, conspiracy and possession for sales, said Johnson.
The drug bust "highlights the fact that more and more often we are seeing drug supply sources coming to Carson City from the Reno area," said Johnson.
The Carson City and Douglas County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Teams and the Reno DEA HIDTA Task Force assisted in the arrests.
