Front counter hours change, office now closed Tuesdays at Tahoe Regional Planning Agency
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has updated its hours effective April 4, and with the change includes closing the front office on Tuesdays, officials announced in a press statement today.
Front counter services exist for customers to submit permit applications and get project and property information. The updated schedule reflects the Agency's commitment to customer service following a recent reorganization and staff reduction, the statement said.
The most significant changes include closing the front office on Tuesdays, and closing one hour earlier and during the lunch hour during all other days. Also, new applications will only be accepted before 3 pm. Other TRPA departments and staff members will continue to be available during normal office hours Monday through Friday, the statement said.
Beginning April 4, 2011, the front counter hours are as follows:
Monday — 9 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 4 pm
Tuesday — Closed
Wednesday — 9 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 4 pm
Thursday — 9 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 4 pm
Friday — 9 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 4 pm
Note: New applications accepted only until 3 pm.
This updated schedule will allow TRPA planners to allot more time to getting permits and evaluations out the door, the statement said. In addition, the reduced hours will increase operational efficiency by consolidating the number of office visits to tighter time periods, according to the Agency. The decision to close on Tuesdays was made after consultation with customers and local jurisdiction permitting partners.
"These changes are being made to keep important customer support services up and running through changing financial conditions," TRPA spokesman Jeff Cowen said in the press statement. "We appreciate everyone's patience and are looking on this as an opportunity to do what we do better."
